John Easterling

Amazon Herb Company founder, “Amazon John” Easterling, has made over 100 trips to the Amazon and has modeled sustainable eco-commerce with more than 14 Indigenous villages of South America for the past 18 years. Featured as a visionary on Jean Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Adventures “Return to the Amazon,” he and his company were recognized as “the strongest testament that keeping the Rainforest alive and productive is more economically profitable than cutting it down.”
Prior to founding the Amazon Herb Company, he owned Raiders of the Lost Art – importing and distributing gemstones, crystals, mineral specimens, and Amazon Basin Tribal artifacts. After a life-altering event where Rainforest herbs not only helped him regain his original health, but significantly increased it, John realized that the true treasures of the Amazon's forest were the life-enhancing, life-changing herbs. Since 1990, he has made these botanicals available to others, while at the same time providing solutions to Rainforest deforestation and support to the native people.
John holds a degree in Environmental Studies, and is an inspiring speaker with a powerful vision of creating a new future for Rainforest sustainability. |
James A. Duke, PhD

James A. Duke, PhD, is one of the 3 founding members of the American Botanical Council (ABC) Board of Trustees. He is a well-known scientist, educator, storyteller, musician, and one of the most prolific writers on herbal medicine. With over 30 authored and coauthored books—such as the The Green Pharmacy (Rodale, 1997) and Dr. Duke’s Essential Herbs (Rodale, 1999) – and over 400 botanical articles to his credit, he’s also well-known for leading exciting tours of the Peruvian Amazon, and possibly even more famous for accomplishing the latter barefoot.
Dr. Duke retired in September of 1995 after more than 30 years with the USDA – including positions as Chief of the Medicinal Plant Laboratory and Chief of USDA’s Economic Botany laboratory. He continues to hold a personal interest in medicinal plants, and maintains a private medicinal herb garden with over 80 plots of plants. |
Dr. Roger W. Mustalish
President, ACEER Foundation

Dr. Roger W. Mustalish, President of the Amazon Center for Environmental Education and Research Foundation (ACEER), has worked in the Peruvian Amazon for more than 15 years. He regularly conducts educational workshops in both the Amazon rainforest and the Andean cloud forest on topics that include botanical medicine, conservation medicine, integrative medicine, and ecology.
Dr. Mustalish earned an A.B. in biology from the University of Pennsylvania; an M.S. in zoology from Michigan State University, and a Master of Public Health and Ph. D. in Environmental Health from the University of Minnesota. In addition to his responsibilities for ACEER, Dr. Mustalish is also Chairperson of the Department of Health at West Chester University of PA, where he directs the Integrative Health program and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on botanical medicine and integrative health. |

Bunnie is the natural skin-care chemist involved in developing and manufacturing the popular Lluvia Skin Renewal System. Throughout the 1980's Bunnie maintained a nutritional consulting practice while teaching clinical nutrition and positive lifestyles around the globe. Her research blossomed into an enthusiastic interest in anti-aging skin care. She pursued studies in cosmetic chemistry and natural skin care while serving as the International Nutritional Consultant, Education Director and supplement formulator for a European health product company.

Dr. Jeff Essen

Dr. Jeffrey Essen is a Naturopath, certified with the American Naturopathic Medical Association, and has been in private practice since 2000. He studied at the International College of Naturopathy in Santa Barbara CA, (now called the California College of Naturopathy). Jeff holds certificates in Functional Endocrinology, Functional Bloodwork Evaluation, Live Blood Cell Analysis, ONDAMED therapy, Computerized Electrodermal Screening, Digital Thermography, Heidelberg pH Capsule Testing, Aromatherapy, and massage, and has also begun studies to become a Shaman. Jeff’s practice mirrors the edict of Naturopathy, “Do no harm, treat the whole person, and find the source of the imbalance”.
Dr. Essen was introduced to the Amazon Herb Company by one of his patients. When he received his test kit, he was stunned at how powerful the herbs were. Since then, he has introduced over 300 people to the herbs and has seen incredible healing results for himself, his family and his patients. Dr. Essen is on the Amazon Herb Doctor's Panel and has been a valued contributor to the organization. |
